Le métier d'éducateur de chien
The pet dog trainer strives to support owners on a daily basis to help them:
approach their dog's behavior in the best possible way ;
informing owners about how dogs learn;
help them with simple programs to ensure that the balance between the owner's daily life and the dog's needs are respected with a view to harmonious and forward-looking cohabitation;
to lead a dog to adopt behaviors appropriate to the home of which it is a part while preserving the relationship between the owner and the dog;
master both dog ethology and the scientific foundations of learning in order to be able to predict the evolution of behavior;
know the nature of behavioral problems and thus be competent to spot them;
recognize the limits of their skills and, in a professional approach, know how to refer and work with other professionals in the dog industry.
The pet dog trainer always focuses, in the content of his training for the owner, on:
to always respect the emotional, mental and physical nature of the dog;
to familiarize dogs with their environment;
to socialize dogs;
to teach owners how to communicate with their dogs;
to teach dogs to ask politely;
to respect his client in welcoming and supporting him .
The pet dog trainer can also specialize in behavioral rehabilitation and behavior:
His work consists, based on his specializations in behavior and learning, in finding what motivates a dog to change behavior with a view to its behavioral reeducation and to reestablish the relationship between the dog and its master; thus his professional approach is not in the diagnosis that he reserves for the veterinary profession.

Clicker training
The clicker training method consists of reinforcing the desired behaviors of dogs through reward, associated with the "click" sound of this training tool. Appearing in 1992 in the United States, Catherine Collignon discovered this method at a conference in San Diego in 1999. Since then, Catherine has continued to deepen this technique and is considered the pioneer of friendly and positive education in France. Her extensive field experience and her deep understanding, both sensitive and technical, of the cognitive abilities of dogs, through the clicker training method, has allowed many professionals and dog owners to reconsider the notions of obedience, disobedience and hierarchy, in a relationship between dog and human.
Catherine regularly gives courses and training sessions at the Animal Center on the clicker-training method and is the author of the DVD Clicker-training in all its forms.
An essential educational method

Walking on a leash
The leash walking technique developed by Catherine Collignon is based on her field observations and on the way dogs learn on a daily basis. Through this daily learning, Catherine promotes training in leash walking without pulling, applicable to everyone and understandable to all dogs, based in particular on the dog's point of view, which is at the other end of the leash. In combination with her field work, Catherine also designed the Animalin® anti-pull harness to overcome the problems of managing leash walking. Catherine regularly gives courses and training sessions at the Animalin Center on the leash walking technique and is the author of the book Apprendre à mon chien à marcher en laisse sans tirer (Teaching my dog to walk on a leash without pulling ), published by Génie Canin.
An activity to share with your dog

La détection en recherche olfactive
The olfactory search proposed during our courses - whose specialist is Nicolas Ducasse - is a search without a reference odor at the start and is based on what some dogs use spontaneously when they hunt, switching alternately from the track to the quest or vice versa. Due to its natural abilities and depending on the environment, the dog uses the questage or tracking technique to reach its objective as quickly as possible. The detection of people allows the dog to leave the track to go on a quest to reach its objective as quickly as possible and then designate the presence of one or more human presences, on a defined perimeter, whether static or moving. Without a reference odor, there are no bad designations on the part of the dog. Depending on the scenario and the number of human presences on the defined perimeter, it will be up to the master to relaunch his dog to reach the final objective. This is where the term "pair" takes on its full meaning. Depending on the environment and the scenario, the dogs can carry out, in turn, their detection on a lead or free.

Catherine Collignon, an expert and professional in the field who respects the integrity of the dog, felt, after years of practice and observation, the need to offer owners a harness for training in walking on a leash that is easy to put on, comfortable, effective and painless. This is how the idea matured and in 2010 the first "classic" model of the Animalin® Harness was born.
All models are field tested by different types of dogs, whether in size, character and level of education. The range is developed according to the problems related to education and tries to respond as best and as quickly as possible to the requests relating to these education problems.
